Limestone
The current Charles de Gaulle square, renovated in 2011, was in the 12th century the central point of the town of Mont de Marsan (40); a castle was built there. It is landscaped and paved with natural stones, and offers a beautiful setting for the theatre and local residents.
Le petit + CALMINIA®
For the production and supply of the 7,000 m2 of 8/10×8/10x8cm cubic comfort pavers needed for the redevelopment of the square, CALMINIA®’s planning has once again proved its flexibility and adaptability.
For the renovation of the Charles de Gaulle square in Mont de Marsan, the schedule of supplies and construction work was very short, and left no downtime!
Our challenge was therefore to extract our raw material from our hard limestone quarry according to the selection of veining desired by the project managers and clients.
As soon as the extraction was done, the production teams at our production site in Lusignan in Vienne (86) started working to produce 7,000 m2 of cubic comfort paving, in 8/10×8/10 X 8 cm. To break the monotony, a harmony of several veining had been selected: Bench C (white) – Bench D (ochre) – Bench GH (dark brown).
In addition, there were 700 ml of flamed steps Bench C2, as well as 1,200 ml of flamed borders Bench C2. Finally, to complete the delivery, 400 ml of rabbeted gutters were also worked and shaped in parallel.
And all this production was able to be carried out within a schedule of only 3 months, from order taking to delivery, including extraction, cutting, finishing, surface treatments, etc…
